We are seeking a high‑caliber Vulcanizing Technician with proven field experience to join a specialized team supporting multiple industrial sites across the region.

Pay: Based on experience
Position Overview:
Technicians will report to the Festus, MO home office and then travel with the company crew to various customer locations. Approximately 75% of this role involves travel, with all travel expenses fully covered.
This is a career‑level position requiring advanced vulcanizing knowledge, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in high‑pressure industrial environments.
Schedule & Travel Details:
- Start Time: 5:00 AM
- End Time: Work until the job is completed (overtime common)
- Travel: 75% of travel to multiple job sites
- Per Diem: Provided for travel over 100 miles from the home office
- Company‑Paid Expenses: Hotel stay, fuel, and travel costs covered
- Transportation: Employee drives to Festus, MO; a company vehicle is provided for all further travel

Required Technical Skills (Experienced Candidates Only)
· Advanced Vulcanizing Expertise (3-4 years)
- Demonstrated ability to perform hot and cold vulcanizing on conveyor belts and industrial rubber components
- Proficiency in multiple splice types, including:
- Finger splicing
- Step splicing
- Mechanical splicing
- Endless splicing
- Skilled in belt repairs, patching, and pulley lagging
- Ability to operate, calibrate, and maintain vulcanizing presses, including temperature, pressure, and cure‑time management
- Strong understanding of rubber bonding chemistry, adhesives, solvents, and surface prep
- Ability to diagnose belt failures and determine appropriate repair or replacement methods
Industrial & Mechanical Competencies:
- Knowledge of conveyor systems, belt tracking, tensioning, and alignment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and repair instructions
- Skilled with industrial tools: grinders, buffers, cutting tools, pneumatic equipment
- Precision measurement skills using tape measures, calipers, squares, and straight edges
- Experience working in mining, quarry, or heavy industrial environments
Safety & Compliance:
- MSHA certification required
- Strong understanding of lockout/tagout procedures
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and around heavy machinery
- Knowledge of PPE requirements, chemical handling, and heat‑related safety
Physical & Work‑Style Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working long shifts until job completion
- Willingness to travel extensively (75%)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew
Additional Requirements:
- 3–4 years of professional vulcanizing experience
- Class E driver’s license
- Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure
