Laborer / Equipment Operator
Job Summary
PROMAN is seeking motivated and dependable candidates to join a growing production team. This position is responsible for manufacturing and handling various industrial products while operating machinery and equipment safely and efficiently. Candidates should be eager to learn, maintain quality standards, and contribute to a productive team environment.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laborer/Operator with strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills to safely operate machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy equipment, chainsaws, and other specialized tools. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and teamwork.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform production tasks while maintaining quality standards.
- Assist in meeting or exceeding daily production goals.
- Set and maintain production line balance and speed.
- Load and unload materials and parts into manufacturing equipment.
- Perform pre-shift and end-of-shift inspections and basic equipment maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and PPE requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings and required team briefings.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Complete all required documentation accurately.
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance and work a flexible schedule as needed, including overtime, nights, or weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-3 years of heavy equipment operation experience preferred.
- Previous experience using hand tools preferred.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to work various shifts and schedules.
- Ability to perform physical labor in changing weather conditions.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently use hands and arms to handle tools, equipment, and materials.
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as needed.
- Work in indoor and outdoor environments.
- Exposure to moving machinery, varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and vibration.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50-100 lbs.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements and remain productive throughout the shift.
- Specific vision abilities may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing, warehouse, or outdoor work environment.
- Regular exposure to varying temperatures, weather conditions, dust, dirt, and noise.
- Personal protective equipment provided and required where applicable.
