A Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance of all machines. Serve as a good role model to coworkers for safe working practices and behavior by keeping in mind your own safety and the safety of others.
Maintenance Technician FUNCTIONS:
• Receives machine priorities from the Maintenance Manager.
• Install and wire industrial equipment as directed by Maintenance Manager.
• Routinely performs machinery checks ensuring all safety devices are installed and functioning properly.
• Conduct periodic checks of all electrical equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all production equipment.
• Identifying and reporting potential equipment or building issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditions.
• Work independently from verbal and/or written instructions from the Maintenance Manager.
• Communicate with off-going/on-coming technicians.
• Monitor processes, recognize issues, and demonstrate corrective actions.
• Assist with training of junior technical staff.
Maintenance Technician REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Maintenance Technician Experience:
At least 3 years of industrial maintenance or technical hands-on experience.
Skills/Qualifications:
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Knowledge of plastic processing and troubleshooting.
• Electrical experience.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Mechanically inclined; ability to use basic hand tools.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Must possess own required tools.
• Teamwork-oriented and respectful.
• Self-motivated with initiative.
• Suggest improvements for efficiency and safety.
• Good communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK CONDITIONS:
• Constant physical exertion; exposure to noise and temperature changes.
• Talking and hearing constantly required.
• Frequent repetitive motions; standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching, grasping.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs overhead frequently.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Requires PPE: safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, heat sleeves, back supports.
• No loose clothing or jewelry; uniforms required.
