Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating various types of powered industrial trucks, including Reach Trucks, Stand‑Up Forklifts, Sit‑Down Forklifts, and Turret Trucks, to move, load, unload, and store materials throughout the warehouse or distribution center. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy, productivity, and workplace safety.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate Reach, Stand‑Up, Sit‑Down, and Turret forklifts to transport materials within the warehouse
- Safely load, unload, stack, and stage products in racks, trailers, and designated locations
- Pick, move, and replenish inventory according to work orders or RF scanner instructions
- Perform high‑level racking tasks while maintaining load stability and accuracy
- Conduct pre‑shift equipment inspections and report mechanical issues or safety concerns
- Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and quality standards
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and documentation
- Assist with general warehouse tasks such as palletizing, wrapping, labeling, or housekeeping as needed
- Work efficiently to meet productivity, quality, and attendance expectations

- Reach Truck (High‑rack, narrow‑aisle storage)
- Stand‑Up Forklift
- Sit‑Down Counterbalance Forklift
- Turret Truck (Swing‑mast / Swing‑reach)
Qualifications
- Minimum [1 year –2 years] forklift experience (reach and/or turret experience preferred)
- Ability to operate multiple forklift types safely and confidently
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification on site
- Basic math, reading, and inventory skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, and twist for extended periods
- Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs (with or without accommodation)
- Comfortable working at heights and in narrow aisles
- Ability to work in warehouse conditions (temperature variations, noise, dust)
Preferred Qualifications
- RF scanner or Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience
- Prior experience in a high‑volume distribution or fulfillment center
