We are seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic facilities management team. This role is essential in ensuring the optimal operation, safety, and reliability of our manufacturing facility’s infrastructure and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of industrial maintenance practices, mechanical and electrical systems, and be capable of troubleshooting a wide range of technical issues. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the seamless functioning of our production environment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Daily rounds: check mechanical rooms, boilers, pumps, RTUs, generators
- Change filters, belts, light bulbs, grease motors, clean coils
- Basic repairs: unclog drains, reset breakers, patch drywall, touch-up paint, replace faucets/toilets
- Assist vendors (carpet cleaners, HVAC techs, electricians)
- Mow/edge, blow sidewalks, minor landscaping around the residence
- Receive packages, light stocking of supplies, keep shop organization
- Snow removal & salting in winter
Experience
- 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience (apartment, hotel, facilities, or construction trades count)
- Your own basic hand tools
- Able to lift 75 lbs, climb ladders, crawl in tight spaces, work outside in any weather
- Clean driving record + reliable truck/car
- Pass background check & drug screen
- Bonus: HVAC coursework, pool cert, or any trade licenses
- Prior experience in building maintenance, construction, or similar trade preferred
- Basic understanding of tools, power equipment, and general repair practices
- Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn with good communication and teamwork skills
- Drivers License
