Lab Technician – Job Description
Overview
The Lab Technician supports day‑to‑day laboratory operations by performing routine experimental tasks, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation in support of scientific research and product development.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Perform routine laboratory procedures to support scientific experiments and investigations.
Set up, operate, test, and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
Maintain documentation of all laboratory activities.
Collect, prepare, and label samples, reagents, and solutions.
Ensure proper handling and safe disposal of chemical and polymer waste.
Follow and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Assist with the setup of chemical and polymer reactions.
Support isolation, purification, and characterization of polymers and related materials.
Education and Training Requirements
Completion of 2 years of college coursework in chemistry, biology, materials science, or a related field is preferred.
Prior laboratory experience is strongly preferred.
